passed on 10/6/09 by the PPB Governing Body. Please note that I have
forwarded same to the PPB Chamber of Commerce for dissemination to their
business members. As you are aware, the Borough Administrator,
Christine Riehl, is going to add a request that military be allowed
on the Maryland Avenue Beach for free as part of the bid process for lease of
that beach operation. If I can be of any further assistance,

OF THE BOROUGH OF POINT PLEASANT BEACH, COUNTY OF OCEAN, STATE OF NEW JERSEY,
DECLARING THAT POINT PLEASANT BEACH IS A MILITIARY FRIENDLY TOWN AND THAT THE
MAYOR AND COUNCIL FULLY SUPPORT THOSE THAT SERVE IN THE ARMED FORCES AND THAT
THE BOROUGH OF POINT PLEASANT BEACH DOES ENCOURAGE ALL ITS BUSINESS PERSONS TO
OFFER DISCOUNTS TO THOSE WHO SERVE IN THE MILITARY AND FOR OUR RESIDENTS AND
BUSINESS PERSONS TO GREET AND TREAT THEM KINDLY AS A SIGN OF GRATITUDE FOR THE
SERVICE THEY PROVIDE TO PROTECT OUR FREEDOM AND SAFETY WHEREAS, the men and women who serve in our
military forces have dedicated their lives to protect our country, our freedoms
and our safety; and WHEREAS, those currently serving in the military
could be assigned a tour of duty in Iraq or Afghanistan, placing their lives in
danger for our freedom; and WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of the Borough of
Point Pleasant Beach wish to formally go on record as declaring the Borough of
Point Pleasant Beach as a military friendly town; and WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council wish to show their
support for those who serve our country and protect our freedom and safety and
further wish to encourage our business persons to offer discounts to military
personnel and urge our residents and business persons to roll out the red
carpet for our military men and women. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Mayor and
Council of the Borough of Point Pleasant Beach, County of Ocean, State of New
Jersey, as follows: 1.
That
the Mayor and Council do formally declare that the Borough of Point Pleasant
Beach is a military friendly town. The Borough of Point Plesant Beach does
hereby declare its support for our military forces and acknowledges the efforts
of our military personnel to protect our freedom and safety, not only at home,
but also abroad. 2. That the Mayor and Council do urge all
business persons in the Borough of Point Pleasant Beach to offer discounts to
military personnel. 3.
That
the Mayor and Council urge all residents and business persons to extend the red
carpet to our military service men and women by extending a friendly and warm
greeting to them and to show our gratitude by extending every courtesy to them.
